A big THANK YOU to all for the 2015 Tryon Half Marathon

Another great race is in the books. I think it is fair to say that this was one of the best years yet. The weather was perfect, the course was nicely packed dirt, the prizes were beautiful and the food..... the food was SO GOOD.

We had a great group of runners this year - many new to the area. The winner, Ryan Courtoy, moved here from Florida, so our "mostly flat" course was a bit hilly for him. It didn't seem to slow him down though! He finished with a time of 1:18:13! Amazing!

Our female winner was local runner Jennifer Fisher who ran another fast time of 1:29:41... I think she runs with us every year and I am pretty sure she goes home with a trophy every year. Her signature pink running outfit and beautiful smile always brighten the course.

Thank you to all the runners for a great day!

Thank you also to all the volunteers who make this happen. In a small community it is hard to get enough people to make sure this race runs smoothly. It was a gorgeous day and there were probably a million other things people could have done, but they chose to spend it with us. We appreciate your time and efforts to make the event go off without a hitch.  I hope you enjoyed your day.

Our sponsors!  We have the best group of sponsors each year - they not only donate the money that makes this race possible but most also donate their time to help make sure the race is promoted, organized and runs smoothly race day.  From helping to promote the race, cleaning up the course prior to race day, providing volunteers, and often running the race - they all fully involved.  It is a great partnership.

Presenting sponsor - Wells Fargo Advisors of Tryon. Thank you Mike Ashworth!

Endurance Level Sponsors: Home Trust Bank and PRO Physical Therapy
Tempo Level Sponsors: Malone Coaching, Entegra Bank
Sprint Level Sponsors: Sierra Nevada Brewing, Fleet Feet Sports

Our beneficiary also is very active in the success of the race... how many races can say that?
Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry is responsible for the breakfast. Their volunteer coordinator, Barb Powell,  reaches out to volunteers in their organization and local churches to provide the food. Executive Director, George Alley helped by providing food for the breakfast and many other race day tasks including taking down the traffic cones.

Thank you to all!!
